Taufon eye drops: instructions for use

The drug Taufon is available in the form of eye drops containing a 4% taurine solution. Directions for use: instillation into the conjunctival sac.

After instillation, it penetrates well into the eye tissue, and systemic absorption is low. Low absorption causes the absence of systemic effects after taking the drug.

Indications for use of the drug are:

  • dystrophic damage to the cornea;
  • corneal injuries;
  • various types of cataracts. Read more about pregnancy with cataracts.

Contraindications for use are:

  • individual intolerance;
  • age up to 18 years.

Treatment with Taufon is always carried out as part of complex therapy.

The frequency of administration depends on the severity of the disease, its stage, and also takes into account the fact whether the woman is taking any other medications. For example, for dystrophic diseases or injuries of the cornea, 1-2 drops are instilled 2-4 times a day for at least 10 days, depending on the severity of the condition. For cataracts, the duration of treatment increases to a month.

A side effect of taking Taufon is the development of an allergic reaction. If it appears, you should immediately stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

If several eye drops are used at once during treatment, then it is necessary to maintain an interval of 15 minutes between instillations. Contact lenses must be removed before instilling the drug.

The choice of medication should be left to the doctor, who will calculate the dosage and duration of treatment depending on the degree of the disorder.

My usage review

The need for eye drops arose after I decided to become interested in drawing. I thought that I could devote 3-4 hours a day to this activity without a break and not even worry about the condition of my eyes. After all, in essence, what is it, it’s not a computer.

But literally from the first day I felt that “wonderful” feeling of sand in my eyes, uncontrollable tears, persistent red eyes and other delights of life.

It was not possible to go to the doctor at that time, so I had to ask my friends for advice, who recommended Taufon to me.

Combination with physiotherapeutic methods

Physiotherapy has firmly taken its place in the treatment of many diseases, including eye diseases. To improve the effect of the drug, it can be administered using a physiotherapeutic procedure such as magnetophoresis. The drug is injected into the eyes using a low-frequency magnetic field. With this method of treatment, the organs of vision are affected not only by the drug itself, but also by the magnetic field. The medicine is administered in the dosage prescribed by the ophthalmologist.

In addition to physical therapy, children should receive vitamins, antioxidants and medications that improve microcirculation, especially if progressive myopia is diagnosed.

Taufon

To learn how to administer eye drops to children, watch the following video.

Description

The drops are a colorless, odorless liquid. Available in bottles with a dispenser for ease of use. The active ingredient is taurine, a sulfoamino acid. This substance is produced in the bile of warm-blooded animals and humans. This substance was first obtained from bovine bile, hence the name taurine (taurus).

Taurine is produced in sufficient quantities by the human body, but under some circumstances its production may decrease. It has been proven that with prolonged exposure to electromagnetic radiation, the synthesis of taurine in tissues is suspended or stopped.

Signs of taurine deficiency:

  • decreased visual clarity;
  • dystrophic changes in muscle tissue;
  • depression, anxiety;
  • cardiovascular pathologies;
  • decreased immune defense;
  • dull brittle hair.

To replace taurine, drops containing this substance are prescribed. Taufon drops trigger regeneration processes and normalize energy exchange in the tissues of the visual organs. The drops also saturate the tissues with vitamins that regulate metabolic processes.

The medicine is well tolerated by patients without causing side effects. However, uncontrolled use of Taufon can lead to undesirable changes, including decreased vision.

How do Taufon drops differ from Taurine, which costs several times less? Taufon contains additional medicinal substances that help suppress fungal spores and have a disinfecting effect.

Taufon

Where to buy and how much it costs

Some people buy the cheaper, similar drug Taurine, which is prescribed for the same symptoms. It cannot be said that Taufon is better than Taurine. The difference between these means is only in the name. For Taufon, the price in Moscow may differ due to the volume of the bottle and the location of the pharmacy. In addition, Taurine is the Russian name for the product. Taufon is a patented imported drug. This explains their price difference in favor of the second. Many foreign medicines have become more expensive, eye drops are no exception. The price for Taufon eye drops is as follows:

Trademark Name of the drug Pharmacy address Price

expiration date and storage conditions

Shelf life of Taurine

The drug Taurine is available in 2 forms:

  • Film-coated tablets – shelf life 3 years.
  • Eye drops – shelf life is 3 years, provided the integrity of the packaging is maintained. After opening the bottle – 28 days.
  • Injection ampoules – shelf life 4 years. The drug is not stored in open form.

If stored correctly, Taurine can be used 5-10 days before the expiration date.

How to distinguish a genuine product from a fake:

  1. Poorly made packaging. The printed letters are unclear, the quality of the cardboard is poor, the paint smudges and sticks to your hands.
  2. Structure of drugs. Taurine tablets are oval in color and have a dense consistency. The medicine should not crumble or have a pungent odor. Eye drops and solution for injection have a uniform, transparent color structure and do not precipitate. A discrepancy in appearance indicates a counterfeit or stitched product.
  3. The batch number on the packaging and on the medicinal product must match.

After the expiration date, Taurine should not be used as it can cause an allergic reaction.

While maintaining the integrity of the packaging, the drug is stored for a long time, since amino acids do not have the opportunity to interact with air. This prevents particle breakdown and premature deterioration.

How to store Taurine

It is prohibited to store the medicine in any form:

  • in the sun;
  • near heating devices;
  • In bathroom;
  • in the freezer;
  • close to food.

Taurine analogues:

  • Quinax;
  • Taufon;
  • Retinalamin;
  • Potassium Iodide;
  • Hilo Kea;
  • Oculoheel;
  • Sikapos;
  • Slesin;
  • Dibikor;
  • Oftagel.

Safety of use

Taurine is artificial caffeine, so it is not recommended to be taken with alcohol. This can lead to disturbances in the functioning of the cardiovascular system.

Taurine does not combine well with cardiac glycosides, so their dosage should be reduced by 2 times. There is no health hazard in tandem with other drugs.

No cases of overdose with Taurine have been identified.

The drug is available with a prescription. The prescription is valid for no more than 60 days.

Why is Taufon prescribed?

Due to their beneficial properties, drops are used in the treatment of various types of ophthalmic pathologies. The absence of harmful factors makes it possible to use them for people of any gender for various diseases.

For conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis damages the thin connective membrane that envelops the outside of the eye and the back of the movable part of the eyelid. More often, the pathology is expressed by an inflammatory process. The properties of Taufon help cope with eye swelling, pain, and tearing. When conjunctivitis becomes severe, the ophthalmologist, together with Taufon eye drops, prescribes other medications. Such complex therapy is of great benefit to the body for quickly eliminating the symptoms of pathology.

From barley

The main cause of barley is considered to be weak immunity. With insufficient protection, the human body cannot cope with pathogenic microorganisms, which leads to eye infections.

The properties of the drug "Taufon" accelerate the process of tissue restoration, normalize blood circulation, and reduce discomfort. As a result, the patient's retinal regeneration accelerates and visual acuity increases.

For cataracts

The development of cataracts is promoted by a lack of water and oxygen in the tissues of the eyes. In the initial stage of the pathology, burning of the eyelids and redness of the eyeball are observed. When the disease becomes severe, the patient experiences a sensation of a foreign body in the eyes. Over time, such symptoms lead to nearsightedness or farsightedness. The properties of the eye drug "Taufon" help the body to regress cataracts, which prevents surgery.

For glaucoma

Glaucoma is a rather dangerous eye disease that causes great harm to the patient’s vision. The first signs of pathology are the urge to vomit, headache, itching and burning in the eye sockets. To eliminate these symptoms and prevent the development of the disease, doctors prescribe the drug "Taufon"

But to achieve benefits, precautions must be strictly observed. Therefore, self-treatment of the eyes is not recommended.

Important! You should absolutely not drip Taufon onto your lenses.

The ophthalmic drug should be used within 30 minutes. before putting on the accessory and after removing it. Otherwise, the surface of the eyeball will suffer great damage.

From eye pressure

When intraocular pressure increases or decreases, eye microcirculation and metabolism fail. This pathological deviation leads to the development of glaucoma or other ophthalmological diseases. The properties of Taufon drops reduce the production of intraocular fluid, which contributes to its better outflow. In addition, the medication improves metabolism. Such beneficial qualities normalize intraocular pressure, which can prevent vision loss.

Corneal dystrophy

Retinal dystrophy is most common in older people. Typically, this pathology damages the photoreceptor cells of neurons, which are responsible for the perception of light and distance vision.

At first, this pathology may be asymptomatic. However, over time, eye dystrophy begins to acquire a high degree of myopia. Modern treatment for this condition involves the use of useful Taufon drops. Thanks to their properties, blood vessels are strengthened and the metabolic process in the retina of the eyes is improved.

Corneal injury

This category includes superficial microtraumatization of the corneal epithelium

Such pathological harm can occur when wearing contact lenses, carelessly applying cosmetics, foreign bodies, injury with a handkerchief or finger. In these and similar cases, the drug "Taufon" will quickly restore regeneration processes, which will have a beneficial effect on the tissues of the cornea of the eyes

Attention! During swelling of the eyes, fatigue and deterioration of vision, it is recommended to drip Taufon for prevention. This approach will prevent the development of ophthalmic pathologies without causing harm to the body.

Taufon drops for the prevention of eye diseases

Many people over 50 years old have to deal with the problem of eye diseases, which can lead to decreased or even loss of vision. Vision problems also often occur in young people whose activities involve high strain on the eyes. The use of the drug Taufon for the prevention of eye diseases can significantly reduce the risk of developing ophthalmological diseases. Its main purpose is to combat glaucoma, cataracts, corneal dystrophy, as well as prevent the development and progression of these pathologies.

Eye health protection and prevention

Constant stress on the eyes leads to overstrain of the muscles of the eyeballs, a decrease in the production of tear fluid, increased eye fatigue and the development of inflammation.

When the first signs of discomfort appear - redness, burning, stinging, swelling, measures should be taken to protect the eyes and prevent the development of ophthalmic pathologies. For this purpose, it is recommended to instill medicinal solutions that contain components that prevent the formation of myopia and farsightedness, strengthen blood vessels and saturate the visual organs with nutrients. These drugs include Taufon drops.

This medication is developed on the basis of taurine sulfonic acid, a substance produced by the human body. Taurine has regenerative and hepatoprotective properties. Thanks to this, the use of drops makes it possible to prevent or stop degenerative processes in the retina, as well as normalize the metabolic process in tissues.

With age, the blood vessels of the eyes become fragile and brittle. Taufon allows you to restore their strength and elasticity, strengthen the structure of the retina of the organs of vision, and thereby prevent the development of processes leading to decreased vision.

For preventive purposes, the drug can also be used in the following situations:

  • Increased intraocular pressure.
  • Frequent eye infections.
  • Decreased vision due to endocrine disorders.

Due to the ability of the drug to restore damaged tissue, patients with injuries to the cornea and retina who used Taufon experienced rapid healing of damaged tissue.

Features of use

The instructions for Taufon indicate that the drops should be taken for the following diseases:

  • Dystrophy of the cornea and retina.
  • Cataract.

  • Open angle glaucoma.
  • Corneal injury.

Dosages

In the case of simultaneous use of these drops with timolol, intraocular pressure and blood pressure noticeably decrease. This allows the drug to be used together with timolol in the fight against open-angle glaucoma, which is accompanied by a strong increase in eye pressure. Patients should drip timolol into their eyes, and after 20-30 minutes, Taufon should be administered. The procedure is carried out 2 to 4 times a day. 2-3 drops of Taufon are injected into each eye.

For patients with injuries to the retina and cornea, the duration of therapy should be 1 month. Patients with cataracts should use the medicine for at least 3 months, and then, after a 30-day break, resume the course again. The dosage is determined by the doctor depending on the individual characteristics of each patient.

People with dystrophic lesions of the retina are prescribed a 4% solution, which is administered 0.3 ml once a day for 10 days. 10-day courses are recommended to be repeated every 6-8 months.

Side effects

After instillation, the development of such adverse reactions as:

  • Allergic conjunctivitis (occurs in patients with hypersensitivity to the ingredients present in the drops).

  • Swelling of the conjunctiva.
  • Itching, stinging in the eyes.

Special instructions and storage conditions

Before using the drops, wash your hands well. After each instillation, it is necessary to close the bottle with a lid. Store the medication in a place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of 8-15 degrees.

The shelf life of the drops is 3 years from the date of issue. When purchasing a medication, you must carefully study the information regarding the date of its manufacture. After 3 years from the date of release, Taufon cannot be used, since the medicinal solution loses its therapeutic properties.

After removing the protective cap, the shelf life of the drops is 28 days.

Is it possible to take Taufon without a doctor's prescription?

Despite the fact that Taufon is available in pharmacies without a prescription, you cannot self-medicate and prescribe this drug yourself, without a doctor’s recommendation.

If problems arise with the organs of vision, you should visit an ophthalmologist, who will conduct a detailed examination of the eye condition, rule out the individual sensitivity of the patient’s body to Taufon substances, and only after that will prescribe medication. The dosage and duration of the course should also be determined by a specialist, depending on the type of disease and the severity of its course.

Prevention of such complex diseases as cataracts and glaucoma requires regular examination by a doctor and treatment of conditions that can lead to the development of these diseases.

Taufon helps reduce the risk of ophthalmic infections, strengthen local immunity, prevent age-related changes in the cornea, and can be prescribed as a prophylactic agent at the risk of developing glaucoma and cataracts. However, you need to remember that self-medication can lead to serious consequences.

Contraindications

Taufon is contraindicated for persons under 18 years of age, as well as people with sensitivity.

In addition, the medicine should not be instilled into pregnant and nursing mothers without a doctor’s prescription, since no studies have been conducted on the effects of the medicine on their bodies. Also in ophthalmological practice there is no information about the effect of the drug on people while driving a car or working with complex mechanisms. Therefore, driving a car or engaging in activities that require increased attention is allowed no earlier than 30 minutes after instillation.

Taufon eye drops have a positive therapeutic effect for progressive eye diseases. So, for cataracts accompanied by clouding of the lens, this medication helps slow down the development of pathology. For diseases of the cornea, Taufon can only be used in combination with other medications. For glaucoma, drops help reduce eye pressure by draining fluid. And in case of retinal dystrophy, the medicinal composition restores damaged tissue and prevents destruction of the retina.

Thus, due to its wide spectrum of action, the medication allows you to fight almost all eye pathologies, as well as prevent the development of severe complications.

Modern cataract surgery

What is Taurine

Taurine is a sulfur-containing amino acid that is an important participant in lipid metabolism. In medicine, it is used both for external and internal use.

It is capable of restoring the functions of cell and tissue membranes in general, and optimizes energy and metabolic processes. The lack of this amino acid negatively affects metabolism and complicates regeneration.

Externally, the amino acid is a white crystalline powder that is highly soluble in water. It is used as an active ingredient in a drug with a similar trade name - “Taurine”.

Taurine eye drops are produced by Russian pharmaceutical companies in polyethylene bottles of 5 and 10 ml, equipped with a convenient dropper cap and packaged in a cardboard box.

The concentration of the active substance is 4%, and the auxiliary components in the composition are purified water and nipagin (methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate), which has an antiseptic and preservative effect.

Taurine eye drops help increase the supply of oxygen to the retina, improve the conduction of nerve impulses and trigger regeneration processes in case of damage.

Analogs

The only structural analogue of the drug Taufon is the drug Taurine (also Taurine Akos, Taurine Solo Pharm), but it can rarely be found in pharmacies. Analog drugs with a similar therapeutic effect include the following medications:

  • Quinax;
  • Khrustalin;
  • Catalin;
  • Vita-Iodurol;
  • Ophtolic.

The decision to replace the original drug with an analogue is made only by the attending physician.

Taufon
Taufon drops are used for severe pathologies of the cornea.

The medicine starts regenerative processes in the organs of vision and slows down the development of the pathological process. You can buy it without a prescription, but you should always consult your doctor before using it. If severe adverse reactions occur during the use of drops, you must stop instillation and consult a specialist.

What is the price of Taufon eye drops

Questions about Taufon eye drops' instructions, price, analogues concern everyone who wants to purchase this drug and use it correctly. We should also talk about the cost of the drug. It, as is understandable, may vary slightly depending on which pharmacy offers the product. And here it should immediately be clarified that in almost all retail outlets only one form of the drug is sold - drops in a 10 ml bottle.

To purchase a product in the named version, you won’t have to spend a lot of money. On average, the price of Taufon drops ranges from 110 to 150 rubles. As noted, the exact figure is determined by the pricing policy of the pharmacy. You can find better deals on the Internet. For example, on some sites drops are offered for 50-60 rubles. But, to be honest, such proposals do not inspire much confidence.

More drops may be offered in 5 ml bottles, but purchasing such a product is irrational. Thus, it is better to purchase Taufon drops in regular pharmacies, opting for a 10 ml product. This is the most reliable and not too expensive purchase.

Comparison of side effects of Floxal and Taufon

Side effects or adverse events are any adverse medical event that occurs in a subject after administration of a drug.

Floxal's side effects are almost the same as Taufon's. They both have few side effects. This implies that the frequency of their occurrence is low, that is, the indicator of how many cases of an undesirable effect of treatment are possible and registered is low. The undesirable effect on the body, the strength of influence and the toxic effect of Floxal are similar to Taufon: how quickly the body recovers after taking it and whether it recovers at all.

special instructions

Taufon helps only in the initial stages of cataract development. Its use will not clear up an already clouded lens and can only stop the progression of cataracts.

For corneal injuries, including microtraumas, the drug, as it stimulates tissue restoration and healing processes, is used only as part of a general set of measures. The main treatment is prescribed by a doctor.

The medicine is usually prescribed as part of complex therapy. It is necessary to observe a pause (20-30 minutes) between instillations of Taufon and the use of other medicinal ophthalmic topical agents (drops and ointments).

There is no data on the effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms. Itching and burning may be felt for a short time after instillation.

When wearing contact lenses

If it is necessary to instill Taufon, persons wearing CLs must remove them and put them on again only after 20 minutes after instillation.

It should be noted that a modification of this product was recently released: “Taufon pure tear”, suitable for those who wear contact lenses of any type. The drops contain hypromellose, a substance that restores the tear film and eliminates the symptoms of dryness and irritation of the cornea.

According to the manufacturers, the ophthalmic solution can be instilled without removing the lenses.

"For youthful eyes"

Manufacturers also actively recommend using Taufon as a preventative against age-related vision deterioration, based on the properties of the main substance - to improve the nutrition of the eye and stimulate restoration processes in the refractive media of the organ of vision, maintaining their transparency. For severe visual strain and eye fatigue, ophthalmologists often recommend a combination of Taufon drops with a vitamin and mineral complex of the same brand, Taufon Tabs Lutein, containing plant carotenoids.

Taufon Tender Tear

Taufon Gentle Tear is an ophthalmic solution based on hypromellose, which helps restore, stabilize and reproduce the optical characteristics of the tear film, helps eliminate symptoms of excessive dryness and eye irritation due to its moisturizing, lubricating and protective effect.

The medical device is manufactured in accordance with European Union Good Manufacturing Practice guidelines in Portugal.

Among the advantages of the Taufon gentle tear solution, it should be noted that it can be instilled without removing contact lenses, because The drug is compatible with all types of contact lenses.

Gentle moisturizing with Taufon Gentle Tear gives the eyes a lasting feeling of comfort and helps restore the protective properties of the tear film.

Eye drops "Taufon": harm and benefits

As mentioned earlier, the active ingredient of Taufon is taurine. This is an amino acid that is synthesized from cystine and is involved in tissue regeneration. In ophthalmology, it is used for problems with blood vessels, against the background of degenerative changes in eye tissue, to prevent cardiomyopathy. The human body produces a fairly large amount of taurine, but there are a number of factors that can reduce the production of this component:

  • Metabolic problems caused by lack of nutrients and vitamins.
  • Hypothermia and the presence of viral diseases.
  • The appearance of sluggish chronic diseases, stress.

The organs of vision are usually the first to suffer from taurine deficiency; their recovery after a hard day, an inflammatory disease or stress becomes an impossible task.

The undeniable benefit of the presented drug is the additional help and supply of taurine to the eyes. These medicinal drops regenerate damaged tissue areas and prevent dystrophic changes, which plays an important role in the treatment of glaucoma.

Taufon

The use of these drops significantly improves metabolism, thereby strengthening the walls of blood vessels, maintaining the functionality of cell membranes, and improving the transmission of nerve impulses. Localized in the retina of the eyes, the described drug prevents the action of negative environmental factors.

This medicine can cause harm to humans only in cases of individual intolerance to the ingredients

It is very important to familiarize yourself with contraindications, including periods of pregnancy and lactation, children under eighteen years of age

Instructions for use and dosage

When prescribing a course of treatment and dosage, the doctor takes into account the nature of the pathology, its course and the characteristics of the patient’s body. However, even when drops are prescribed by an ophthalmologist, the patient should study the instructions for use independently.

Standard course of treatment for certain diseases:

  • For cataracts. Drops are instilled into the conjunctival sac - 2-3 drops in each eye. The frequency of instillation is determined by the doctor, usually 3-4 times a day. The course is usually 3 months, then a month break is taken and repeated.
  • For injuries. 2-3 drops are instilled into each eye three to four times a day. The treatment cycle is specified by the ophthalmologist and can last up to 1 month.
  • For open glaucoma. Drops are instilled twice a day - 2-3 drops. The treatment period is determined strictly on an individual basis.
  • For senile changes in image perception and as a preventive measure - three times a day, 2-3 drops for 15-30 days. The course of treatment depends on the patient's condition.

Instructions for using Taufon eye drops:

  1. Shake the bottle slightly before use.
  2. Do not put more than three drops in one eye, because... anyway, more drops will not fit in the conjunctival sac.
  3. When instilled, the bottle should not touch the eye.
  4. After instillation, close your eyes and make circular movements with your eyes so that the product can be evenly distributed over the entire surface of the eye.
  5. Lenses should be put on no earlier than twenty minutes after the eye drops are applied.

The use of Taufon eye drops is relatively safe, does not create discomfort and is well tolerated by the body. But in some people (this is due to the individual characteristics of the body), drops can dull visual acuity for a while

Therefore, the drug should be used with caution by persons whose activities involve increased concentration of attention.

Please always follow the instructions for using the drops to avoid unwanted effects.

Taufon eye drops – how to take for prevention? Briefly about the important things!

Taufon is an eye drop whose active ingredient promotes the regeneration (restoration) of eye tissue. It is used to treat various ophthalmological diseases, as well as damage to the outer shell of the eyeball - the cornea. Is it possible to use Taufon to prevent visual impairment, how to apply it in this case, and how effective is this remedy for myopia?

Description of the drug

Taufon is produced by a Russian pharmaceutical company in the form of 4% eye drops. Sold in 10 ml dropper bottles, the price of one package is 117 rubles. The active ingredient of this medicine is taurine, an amino acid that is produced in the human body. It performs various functions, the main of which is the activation of the metabolic process and tissue repair. In ophthalmological practice, these properties of taurine are used to treat traumatic and degenerative eye injuries.

The instructions for Taufon indicate the following indications for its use:

  • dystrophy (pathological process in tissues associated with cell damage) of the cornea and retina;
  • cataract – clouding of the lens that occurs as a result of age-related changes, injuries, and various diseases;
  • corneal injuries.

Contraindications to treatment with these eye drops are childhood and adolescence, as well as taurine intolerance. Pregnant and lactating women are allowed to use Taufon only if absolutely necessary, since its safety for this group of patients has not been studied. The drug causes virtually no side effects - only if you are hypersensitive to the active substance, an allergic reaction may occur.

Taufon eye drops – how to take for prevention?

According to the instructions, for medicinal purposes the drug should be taken as follows:

  • for injuries and corneal dystrophy - 2 to 4 times a day, 1 or 2 drops in each eye for a month;
  • for cataracts - instill in a similar way, but the course of treatment is 3 months (it is repeated after a month's break);
  • dystrophic changes in the retina are treated with injections of the drug into the eyeball (subconjunctival method of administration) - 0.3 ml for 10 days.

Ophthalmologists are often asked whether Taufon can be dripped into the eyes to prevent decreased visual acuity, dystrophy and cataracts. There are no such indications for use in the manufacturer’s instructions for the medicine, however, drops are widely used for this purpose. The preventive effect of the drug is explained by the principle of action of taurine: it prevents cell destruction, prevents metabolic disorders in the tissues of the visual organ and inhibits degenerative processes.

The use of Taufon for prophylactic purposes has its own characteristics, and the scheme of its use differs significantly from treatment with this drug. There are no official recommendations on this topic, and a doctor should advise how exactly to drip the medicine. There are several ways to instill drops, judging by patient reviews:

  • For 10 days, every evening before going to bed, drop one drop into each eye for an hour and a half. The medicine should be instilled at ten-minute intervals.
  • The second prevention regimen also has a 10-day duration, but Taufon must be used differently. Every day for an hour (at any convenient time), drop 2 drops into both eyes every 15 minutes - a total of 5 repetitions.
  • For two weeks, you need to do 10 instillations (one drop each) every day with an interval of 10 minutes between them.

Periodically, preferably every six months, the preventive course must be repeated. During the procedure, it is not recommended to be distracted or engage in extraneous activities. It is best to lie down during this time, relaxing and closing your eyes between repeated instillations.

People who have used Taufon for prevention note its effectiveness. Those who constantly have tired eyes report the disappearance of symptoms of fatigue (burning, redness) for a long time. Patients with myopia (nearsightedness) and cataracts report that the disease no longer progresses, and in some cases, visual acuity and clarity even improve slightly.

Causes of glaucoma development

In a healthy eye, constant intraocular pressure is maintained by a balance between the production and outflow of aqueous humor (intraocular fluid). In glaucoma, this process is disrupted, resulting in a constant or periodic increase in intraocular pressure. When high pressure levels persist for a long time, atrophy of the optic nerve head develops, which leads to a narrowing of the visual fields, and subsequently to complete blindness.

Symptoms of glaucoma

In the early stages of glaucoma, as a rule, there are no obvious symptoms of the disease. Sometimes patients may notice the appearance of rainbow circles before their eyes. As the disease progresses, there is a deterioration in peripheral vision due to narrowing of the visual fields. Unfortunately, patients may not always notice these symptoms on their own. And only when the central visual zone is already suffering (a dark spot may appear) do most patients consult a doctor.

Diagnosis of glaucoma

At an early stage of the disease, the main problem in diagnosing it is the absence of visible symptoms

That is why it is important to undergo routine examinations annually in order to detect the disease in time and avoid serious consequences. If glaucoma is suspected, the doctor measures intraocular pressure and assesses the condition of the anterior segment of the eye (inspects the angle of the anterior chamber of the eye) using a mirror lens

Also, the diagnosis must include:

  • visual field examination in both eyes,
  • measurement of refraction and determination of visual acuity.

Treatment of glaucoma with eye drops

If the disease is detected in time at an early stage, its course can be controlled and vision loss can be prevented. The main goal of glaucoma treatment is to normalize intraocular pressure. This is achieved by reducing the production of intraocular fluid or improving its outflow. In the initial stages, treatment of glaucoma involves the use of eye drops that reduce intraocular pressure. In addition to special medications that reduce intraocular pressure, the doctor may also prescribe vitamins, drugs that improve metabolism in the eye tissues, for example, Taufon eye drops, and also refer the patient to other specialists, for example, to a therapist, in order to normalize blood pressure . Therapy may also include laser and/or traditional surgery. Treatment tactics depend on the severity and type of disease, as well as the reasons for its development. Eye drops for glaucoma, as well as for cataracts, as part of complex therapy can be prescribed both before and after surgery to ensure rapid tissue restoration. However, results can be achieved only with strict adherence to all recommendations of the attending physician and systematic regular use of antiglaucomatous drugs. It must be remembered that self-medication for this disease can only worsen its course and accelerate vision loss.

First sensations

The instillation procedure itself is not very pleasant, but quite tolerable: your eyes start to hurt a lot, so it’s better to immediately close them for a few minutes.

I immediately noticed that after the first use my eyes became much more comfortable, all the uncomfortable sensations simply dissolved.

I started using the drops in the evening, and already in the morning I noticed that I had a sparkle in my eyes, my eyes became fresh.

After just a couple of days, I began to notice that my eyes stopped hurting, especially when working at the computer for a long time or reading e-books.

Eye drops Taufon - indications for use, review

But there is one thing...

Unfortunately, the remedy is not omnipotent. I have a problem with constant red capillaries in my eyes. They accompany me all the time, even when I don’t strain my eyes all day and get enough sleep. What happens under the opposite conditions, I will not say anything. Of course, this is not particularly annoying in terms of sensitivity, but in external terms it constantly catches the eye.

I used Vizin before to eliminate this problem, it successfully dealt with it within 10-15 minutes. For some reason I thought that Taufon would also cope with this problem, but, unfortunately, expectations did not coincide with reality.

I thought that, in principle, all eye drops are more or less similar, but it turns out that Visin acts by constricting blood vessels, and Taufon is ordinary vitamins in the form of drops .

But these were just my hopes and expectations, so I simply can’t raise my hand to give a minus to the product for this. Just in case, I'm telling those who have the same problem.

History of the creation of Taufon

Taurine, the active ingredient of the drug Taufon, was discovered in 1827 among the components of ox bile, which is where it got its name - “taurus” means “bull” in Latin. The discovery of taurine did not become particularly important until in 1970, scientists discovered its indispensability as a nutritional element for cats. Without it, animals developed retinal degeneration, leading to blindness and serious problems with the heart. Observations of animals led scientists to think about the benefits of taurine for humans.

Currently, taurine is considered as a conditionally essential amino acid, since in certain periods of the body’s development (formation and development of organs and systems) and stressful situations (severe physical and emotional stress, injury, illness, convalescence), the need for taurine increases, and the so-called functional deficiency of this compound.

Taurine is the most abundant amino acid in the retina, vitreous, lens, cornea, iris and ciliary body. For example, in the retina it accounts for up to 40–50% of the total amount of free amino acids. Detailed studies of the topography of taurine distribution in the retina of several vertebrate species showed its presence in all layers with the maximum content in the outer nuclear layer. It has been suggested that it plays a role as a neurotransmitter in the process of translating a light impulse into a nerve signal (Orr et al., 1976); Subsequently, the particularly important role of taurine in the function of photoreceptor cells was proven (Voaden et al., 1977).

In addition to the neurotransmitter, taurine in the retina performs a regenerative function: experiments conducted on rats, rabbits and two species of bony fish showed that during the healing process of the retina after damage to the optic nerve in the center of the regenerated area, the taurine content sharply increased, but the mechanism of its participation itself has not been clarified was (Lima et al., 1989). Quantitatively, taurine is important not only for the retina; its deficiency in the lens leads to cataracts (Gupta, Mathur, 1983). It is assumed that taurine is involved in maintaining osmotic balance in the lens (Baskin et al., 1977). There is evidence of a decrease in taurine content in lenses with cataracts compared to unaffected lenses.

The above properties of taurine determined the feasibility of developing the drug Taufon, which was approved for medical use by Order of the USSR Ministry of Health N 1126 of August 22, 1986.

For almost 30 years, Taufon has enjoyed well-deserved trust and is widely prescribed by ophthalmologists.

Many years of experience in using the drug Taufon in the form of eye drops by both patients and doctors confirms the fact that Taufon is a reliable and proven remedy for the natural restoration and nutrition of the eyes.

Em. eyelashes may deteriorate and your eyes may become swollen

In the morning you wash it off along with your eyelashes.

Absolutely nothing. A couple of weeks ago I unexpectedly ended up in the hospital, naturally wearing a lot of makeup, including mascara. After the IV I passed out and slept with my makeup on until the morning; in the morning I got up and calmly washed off my makeup. Eyelashes are in place, no problem. Although if the situation is “not complicated”, it is better to wash off the mascara before you lie down on the sofa.

Nothing special will happen, just your eyelashes will stick together a little and there will be smudged mascara under your eyes.

Very quickly, wrinkles will appear under the eyes, and the tear ducts will become clogged, the eyes will begin to water, and cleaning them is an unpleasant procedure...

Taufon is available in the form of eye drops, in a solution for administration under the conjunctiva, as well as in tablets and capsules. Taufon eye drops are a colorless transparent solution.

This is different for everyone. After 3-5 hours, my eyes start to water and itch from mascara, no matter what brand of mascara I have. In any case, cosmetics (including mascara) are primarily chemicals, so it is better to wash them off in time, especially at night, when the whole body should rest.

In the morning you will look like a hungover raccoon on the warpath. And so, nothing will happen just once. If you are allergic, your eyes may become red.

No big deal, but not advisable. You just wake up in the morning with smeared mascara under your eyes and a dirty pillowcase. But if you do this often, small wrinkles will appear under the eyes and eyelashes will become sparse.

Although some say they feel more comfortable wearing glasses and looking at LCD monitors. As for glasses with holes, according to the experience of my friends, they are useless. That is, they are clearer, but when you remove them, it becomes the same as it was. There is no therapeutic effect. But they are inconvenient. My personal method is if I work a lot at the monitor, I look at it alternately for several minutes with one eye, closing my other eye, then change my working eye. This is easy to learn. It helps me a lot.

Physical manifestations The eyes are the organs of vision. There are a huge number of problems associated with them, most of which boil down to vision impairment. See related articles and explanation below. Emotional reasons An eye problem that affects vision suggests that a person prefers to close his eyes to what is happening because he is afraid of losing someone or something. Thus, illness is a form of self-defense for him. It is also possible that he no longer wants to look after everything, be aware of everything, keep his eyes wide open. Here are some more common expressions related to eyes: * My eyes would not see. * My eyes widened. * Eyes bulging * Evil eye. * I close my eyes to these things. Frequent use of one or more of these expressions may even cause eye problems or blurred vision. If the weakness of the eyes prevents a person from seeing well at close range, this means that he does not notice some processes that directly concern him and are connected with his body (for example, he does not notice how his physical body is aging), with the circumstances of his life or with the people around him. What he sees causes him fear, and this fear prevents him from objectively assessing what is happening and deforms reality in his mind. He is satisfied with this situation when he does not see anything around him, since this gives him a feeling of detachment and he does not worry about anything. (See also the article Farsightedness) If the weakness of the eyes prevents a person from seeing at a long distance, this means that he is experiencing unreasonable anxiety associated with his own future or the future of those he loves. He imagines all sorts of scary situations that are unlikely to ever arise. Perhaps he does not want to look far because he is lazy, prefers to go with the flow, or is disappointed with life. (See also the article MYOPIA) The left eye represents what a person sees in himself; this vision is largely due to the influence of the mother, since the left side of the body is associated with the feminine principle. The right eye represents what a person sees in the external world; this vision is largely due to the influence of the father, since the right side of the body is associated with the masculine principle. Mental reasons It's time for you to understand that nothing will change in your life if you refuse to see the truth, closing your eyes to everyone. You are afraid of losing someone or something; despite this, start fighting and try to cope with the situation. You may think that seeing everything, or seeing too well, means you have no room for error. Get rid of this belief, as it only harms you. Without mistakes there is no experience, and without experience there is no development. The eyes are called the mirror of the soul. This means that any problem related to the eyes is very important: it tells you that you are not listening to your soul and have chosen the wrong direction. You must realize that vision deterioration cannot be a natural process and is not associated with heredity. The power of your vision can only be influenced by some deep conviction. In addition, if you often use phrases like the ones above, analyze the fear that makes you say them - this will help you determine the monadaosomatic cause of your problem. Spiritual reasons and elimination In order to understand the spiritual reasons that prevent the satisfaction of an important need of your sincere Self, ask yourself the questions given in the material monadatherapy. The answers to these questions will allow you not only to more accurately determine the true cause of your physical problem, but also to eliminate it.

Optometrist to help

Go to an ophthalmologist, maybe he will prescribe drops, or some primitive drops like taufon, but as for something terrible, it manifests itself differently

Dry eye syndrome

Exercise for the eyes, that is, blink frequently. Well, if the discomfort is constant, then consult an ophthalmologist, and also use Taufon eye drops.

Taufon eye drops are a dull liquid containing the aminoethanesulfonic sulfur-containing amino acid taurine, formed in the body during the conversion reaction of cysteine.

Do tea lotions 3 times a day, and then you will see whether to go to the doctor or not. And eat blueberries, they're great for the eyes

Go to an ophthalmologist, your intraocular pressure may be increased, you need to measure it. It’s not clear - do you read with glasses? If not, glasses correction is required.

Rules of application

The eye drug Taufon has several rules for use.

  • This eye remedy can be used along with other eye medications. But the time between taking different drugs should be 20 minutes;
  • If the patient wears lenses, they can be put on after 20 minutes, otherwise they begin to become cloudy;
  • During the procedure, the surface of the tube should not touch the cornea or other parts of the eye;
  • If the patient is allergic to Taurine, then this drug cannot be used;
  • You can use this eye remedy in conjunction with eye ointments. The ointment can be used 20 minutes after instillation;
  • If a person has to drive a vehicle, then it must be taken into account that the use of drops causes a temporary deterioration of vision. Therefore, it is recommended to drive 30 minutes after using the drug.

Interaction with other means

When administered simultaneously with beta-blockers, Taufon has a potentiating effect in relation to this group.

Eye drops enhance the hypotensive effect, which is very important when treating patients with open-angle glaucoma. The therapeutic effect in this case will be much better

When administered simultaneously with drugs from the group of cardiac glycosides, the pharmacological effect of the latter is significantly enhanced. Therefore, patients taking these drugs should share this information with their ophthalmologist and physician. In these cases, the dosage of cardiac glycosides should be reduced to avoid the development of intoxication.

The use of Taufon in combination with other drugs does not have any significant restrictions. This is explained by Taufon's lack of a systemic effect. Eye drops do not penetrate the systemic bloodstream and do not interact in any way with most medications.

When it comes to eye injuries or infections, Taufon has a stimulating effect on reparative processes in tissues and cells. In addition, it improves the conduction of nerve impulses.

Thus, in addition to Taufon, other medications and vitamin-mineral complexes can be included in the complex of therapeutic measures. Most often, experts recommend drinking blueberry-based biologically active supplements in addition to Taufon.

Contraindications and side effects

The only contraindication to the use of Taufon is hypersensitivity or individual intolerance to taurine. In addition, it is not recommended to prescribe this drug in childhood.

As a side effect, allergic reactions to Taufon or its individual components may occur.

Taufon's instructions do not prohibit prescribing this drug to pregnant and lactating women. However, before starting treatment, it is still better to consult a specialist.

If you experience discomfort in the eye area during treatment, you should stop instilling the drops and consult your doctor so that he can select a different treatment regimen and, if necessary, prescribe an antihistamine.
