And what about our smaller brothers?

Among animals, the camel ranks first in terms of eyelash length.
The competition for men and women with the longest eyelashes in the world is, oddly enough, a camel. The length of the hair covering on the eyelids of humpback animals reaches 5 centimeters. True, they need impressive eyelashes in order to protect their eyes from the sands and winds of the desert. And they don’t look at all as aesthetically pleasing as human hairs – the hairs are hard and shaggy.

There is unverified evidence that somewhere in Australia there lives a dog whose eyes are decorated with eyelashes as long as 13 cm. But whether they are real or not, whether this animal exists at all, has not been officially confirmed.

The longest eyelashes in the world

If you ask such a question in any search engine, the first thing that catches your eye is a photograph of a girl of Asian appearance, from whose eyes not even eyelashes grow, but literally hair. Their length is such that they hang well below the chin.

What are these - fake or real eyelashes? At first glance it may seem that they are real. However, a more detailed analysis of the photo will reveal strange white spots located on the eyelids, similar to glue. - right where the hair grows. So this is most likely a banal fake.

According to the Guinness Book of Records, the longest eyelashes in the world today belong to the Indian Phuto Rav Mauli, who lives in the province of Mesok, which is located near Delhi, the capital of the state. The length of his eyelashes is 4.7 centimeters. If he presses them to his face, they will reach his bottom lip! This record was recorded in 2004, when Phuto was 52 years old.

As the record holder says, he never took care of his wealth, and in his youth he was ashamed of his eyelashes and even trimmed them. This should not be surprising, because peers often run around an Indian guy, calling him half a woman. The most interesting thing is that the agents came to the province to record a completely different record (the oldest cow), and in the end they discovered Phuto. Unfortunately, we could not find his photograph.

By the way, imagine what it’s like for the girl in the photo above to paint her eyelashes? Speaking of mascara. Did you know that it was invented by an English merchant of French origin, Eugene Rimmel, in the 19th century? It consisted of carnauba wax and dyes. It had to be rubbed with a brush and then applied to the eyelashes. The word "rimmel", meanwhile, still means the word "mascara" in several languages.

Modern mascara was invented by chemist Terry L. Williams - at first it was a mixture of Vaseline and coal dust. It was tested on Terry's sister Mabel, who was very pleased with the resulting product. Then the chemist began selling the result of his work by mail, having previously created his own, which is now one of the world leaders among cosmetics. By the way, the name of the company itself is derived from the words “Mabel” (sister’s name) and “Vaseline” (vaseline).

According to historians, Terry would never have become famous if he had not been helped by cinema, which at that time, one might say, was just in its infancy. Film actresses enjoyed using mascara created by Williams, as it made their eyes expressive, bright and beautiful. And when such famous actresses as Pola Negri and Theda Bara almost simultaneously used Maybelline cosmetics in their films, women all over the world immediately wanted to buy mascara for themselves. By the beginning of the 30s of the last century, almost every girl carried this product in her purse to decorate her eyes.

A boy has the longest eyelashes in the world

Oddly enough, not only girls, but also real men can boast of long eyelashes. Muin Buchonaev lives in Moscow, whose eyelash length is simply unmatched in Russia. Their length reaches as much as 3.6 centimeters! And the most interesting thing in this story is that the boy is only seven years old!

As the boy’s parents assure, Muin was already born with such an unusual feature. Even for a baby, his eyelashes were too long and he instantly became famous throughout the maternity hospital. They say that all the mothers in the neighboring wards came to see him. However, it was not only Buchonaev’s eyelashes that made him famous, but also his eyebrows, which also have an unusual length. For some reason everyone thinks they are artificial.

Nature, by the way, didn’t stop there. The fact is that the boy's eyelashes continue to grow at a rate of about one millimeter every six months. Therefore, experts believe that in the future the guy will be able to become a record holder of the Guinness Book of Records (while Phuto, whom we told you about just above, is ahead of him).

The boy's parents are surprised by their son's unusual appearance. They say that this has never happened before in their family.

In the animal world

Among animals, camels have some of the longest eyelashes. Their length does not exceed five centimeters, but they are hairy and tough. The camel needs them so that he can tightly close his eyes from the sand that makes up the deserts. By the way, these animals’ vision is simply excellent - they can notice a person who is a kilometer away from them, and a car 5 km away.

But the real record holder is a certain dog owned by Sandra Duck from Australia. The length of her eyelashes reaches 13 centimeters. However, we were unable to find a reliable source for this information.

Record holders among men

Hindu Phuto Rav Mauli is the owner of eyelashes 5 centimeters long.
According to the Guinness Book of Records, the longest eyelashes on our planet go to men! Unfair, and here they are luckier than the girls? Perhaps, but they just don’t consider themselves very lucky.

For example, an Indian man from the Mesok province named Phuto Rav Mauli suffered from ridicule from friends and passers-by since childhood because of his incredible eyelashes. Of course, their length reaches as much as 5 centimeters. And this is without any oils, gels and vitamins, just from nature! In his youth, Phuto was forced to regularly cut off the annoying hairs on his eyelids, and only in old age, when he abandoned this activity, was he noticed and included in the Guinness Book of Records as one of the owners of the longest eyelashes on the globe.

But the first place is not taken by him, but by an American named Stuart Muller. The length of his eyelashes on the upper eyelid is 6.99 mm! But in fairness it must be said that not all of them have grown so much; most of the eyelashes are of normal length and only a few of them stand out. Müller, unlike the Indian, is not ashamed of his peculiarity, but admits that the non-standard length of eyelashes causes some discomfort in everyday life. However, he is not going to cut them and has successfully held the palm for eight years.

A small resident of Moscow, Muin Bochanaev, holds the record for the longest eyelashes in Russia.

The third place is also occupied by a man, although he is still small. This is Muscovite Muin Bochanaev, his eyelashes reach 3.5 centimeters. But, most likely, this is far from the limit, because the young record holder was only four years old at the time of setting the record. Now he is eight, and there is every reason to believe that the hairs have become even longer. According to the experts who recorded the record and now regularly monitor Muin, his eyelashes grow by about 1 mm every six months. Therefore, it is quite possible that soon he will have the longest eyelashes in the world, he will break the established record.

Owners of the longest eyelashes in the world

And now it’s time to talk about those who naturally got eyelashes of such length that their names were recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. Girls, the longest eyelashes in the world are not a gift, this is a real punishment for those who have to walk with such “beauty” every day!

Phuto Rav Mauli is a resident of India, the owner of eyelashes 47 mm long. Unfortunately, this gift did not make the record holder any happier. Girls often mocked him, viciously teasing him as half-woman. To avoid shame, the young man was forced to pick up scissors and tame such a long frame of his eyes. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find a photograph of this unique man on the Internet. Perhaps the person’s age has an effect - he is already over 60 years old.

It is not known why nature jokes about beautiful young ladies, but men are the owners of the longest eyelashes. As proof of this, a boy living in Russia. Photos of Muin Buchonaev filled the Internet, although he is only 10 years old.

The boy's eyelashes are 36 mm long, making him the second-longest person in the world. It is likely that one day the boy will surpass Phuto Rav Mauli, because his eyelashes continue to grow at a rate of 1 mm per 6 months.

The animal world also has its own champions. A camel is an animal with five-centimeter, thick and hard eyelashes. They perform not an aesthetic, but a practical function - they protect the eyes from the sand of the deserts on which these “ships” sail.

The longest “Ukrainian” eyelashes

Oksana Shikalyuk is the girl with the longest eyelashes. In the world she fell significantly short of the record, but in her homeland she became very famous. Not a single one of her compatriots can boast of such chic, thick and, most importantly, long eye hair. The achievement was recorded by representatives of the National Register of Records on December 7, 2010. At exactly 8:35 a.m. they pulled out one eyelash from Oksana and measured it. It was 18.5 millimeters in length.

The procedure was carried out live on the morning program of the New Channel. A trichologist invited to the studio carefully removed the girl’s eyelash and placed it between two glasses moistened with drops of purified water. This was the only way the hair could straighten completely. By the way, for comparison, they also removed a hair from the eye of the presenter of the program - the announcer’s eyelash was two times smaller than that of Oksana Shikalyuk.
