To prevent sagging and get rid of or prevent the appearance of wrinkles, perform the exercises collected in this material. Although no scientific studies have been conducted to test how effective they are, scientists confirm that more frequent use of any muscle can counteract the effects of muscle weakness and other age-related changes.

An integrated approach to rejuvenation

All the muscles of our face and body are interconnected and form a single myofascial network. ⠀ Eyelids do not begin to droop on their own. The tissues of the back surface of the body, starting from the arch of the foot, due to insufficient physical activity, poor posture, weakened muscle corset and a spasmodic neck, begin to creep upward over the years, putting pressure on the supracranial aponeurosis.

The aponeurosis, in turn, puts pressure on the muscles of the forehead, which entails a downward displacement of the eyebrow arches, and this already provokes drooping of the upper eyelids. ⠀ Therefore, if you want to fight sagging eyelids, then you need a comprehensive approach:

1. Work on your posture, perform exercises to strengthen the muscle corset and stretch the spine

2. Eliminate spasms and tension in the cervical region and perform exercises for the neck muscles

3. Massage the head to loosen the supracranial aponeurosis and relax the scalp muscles

4. Monitor the position of your head and neck while using gadgets, hold your phone correctly and keep your back straight while using the computer.

5. Work with the occipitofrontal muscle, perform techniques to relax the forehead muscles and return the high position of the eyebrows, restore normal tone of all facial muscles

6. Perform exercises to raise the upper eyelids and do eye exercises. Avoid swelling and practice lymphatic drainage techniques and techniques to improve lymph flow, master soft lymphatic drainage self-massage of the face

7. Properly care for the delicate skin around the eyes - do not rub or stretch it, do not apply care products to the moving eyelid, use high-quality cosmetics that are suitable for your skin type and condition.

Eyelid exercises

The Facebuilding technique for eyelids offers the following technique for swelling, blue circles and tear troughs:

Place your index fingers on your forehead above your eyebrows, and place your thumbs below your eyes. Cover your eyelids. Spread your fingers outward from the eyelids, gently applying pressure. Do this exercise for 40 seconds and then rest.

Strengthening the orbicularis oculi muscle

  • The technique works the orbicularis oculi muscle and others nearby: the temporalis, the procerus muscle. Executes slowly. Find a point at the level of your eyelids and slowly protrude your eyes, looking at this point. By doing this exercise, you will feel how not only the muscles of the eyes work, but also the muscles of the temples and nose. Relax your eyes, close them, then start protruding them again. Repeat slowly ten times. Then relax your eyelids completely. You can rub your palms together and apply them to your eyes;
  • Move your pupils in a zigzag pattern, first from left to right, from the imaginary left viewing angle to the right, then gradually going down in a zigzag, then back;
  • Then do the same thing, just move in a zigzag from bottom to top, from the imaginary left viewing angle down, then up, gradually moving from left to right and then in the opposite direction;
  • With your eyes closed, move your pupils in a circle ten times in one direction and the same number in the opposite direction.

The last technique perfectly copes with age-related sunken eyes when performed regularly.

To widen the outer part of the eye

  • Place your hands on your temple in such a way that the fingers of one palm look at the fingers of the other palm: the palm, where the fingers are pointing down, rises slightly towards the hair, the other, where the fingers are pointing up, moves slightly towards the ear;
  • After creating tissue pretension, the skin should become slightly moisturized, after which the hands will begin to move on their own.

How to tighten your upper eyelids

  • Place your index fingers on top of your closed eyelids. Try to open them by counting to eight. Then blink and repeat 3 times;
  • Place the tip of your index finger on the upper eyelid. Pull the outer edges of the eyes towards the temples. Use your upper eyelid to press as hard as you can onto your lower eyelid. Perform sixty presses. Look in the mirror. Pay attention to whether you frown.

How to enlarge your eyes

  1. The exercise restores the shape of the eyelids, eliminates the effect of sunken or sunken eyes, and opens them.

Fix your middle fingers into the upper walls of the eyelid orbit, and your index fingers into their lower walls. Maintain the position for 1-2 seconds, then release the pressure while remaining in the same place;
  • Try to widen your eyes for ten seconds, then try to squint without changing the position of your fingers for 20 seconds;
  • Move your fingers towards your temples in intermittent movements without stretching the skin, help yourself by slightly squinting;

Note: If you have trouble moving to the outer edge, move your fingers back towards the inner corner of the eyelid for thirty seconds, then continue with the main technique.

  • Change the position of your palms. Place your thumbs on the cheekbone, and press the inner edge of your index finger against the outer part of the eyebrow, forming a “frame”. Maintain the position for thirty seconds.
  • Strengthen the effect by moving against resistance - squint;
  • Relax the area you were working on.

  • Place the index finger of your right hand under the inner point of the eyebrow, and the middle finger under the inner corner of the eye.

• Avoid cigarettes and alcoholic beverages.

• Forget about fried, salted and smoked foods that clog blood vessels and prevent proper fluid circulation in the body.

• Include vegetables, fruits and berries in your diet.

• Drink enough fluids. Train yourself to drink a glass of warm water every morning on an empty stomach, which helps restart your body. And you should not drink liquid 2 hours before bedtime, otherwise you will experience swelling the next morning.

• Get at least 7 hours of sleep. After all, lack of sleep is bad for your face. Also make sure that the bedroom has normal sleeping conditions: fresh air, a firm pillow and an orthopedic mattress.

• Take proper care of your skin. Carefully select mascara, eye shadow, pencil and other decorative cosmetics. It should be of high quality, not expired and best suit your skin type. Also, before going to bed, be sure to wash off your makeup with makeup remover or lotion. Going to bed wearing makeup can lead to skin irritation and drooping eyelids.

Basic muscle stimulation

massage

Direct stimulation alone can reduce ptosis (sagging of the upper eyelid), either through concentrated eye movement or a stimulating device such as an electric toothbrush.

Mechanical pressure from the hand causes a reaction in the small muscles of the eyelid. Spend a few minutes every day doing this type of stimulation.

How to tighten eyelids at home

Look at the anatomical picture of the eye. The orbit is covered by the orbicularis muscle, which forms a ring. It works like a camera shutter. We often provoke wrinkles in this area with static facial expressions, for example, when we squint from bright light, concentrate our attention on something, or experience tension when working with gadgets.

With age, the orbicularis muscle gradually narrows and pulls toward the nose, visually reducing the size of the eyes. How to keep our eyes open for beauty, youth and self-confidence?
