Fillers for wrinkles and bags under the eyes: review of popular brands, possible complications

What is filler

Injectable fillers that are injected to smooth out wrinkles, correct shapes or add volume are fillers. They are used under the eyes, for lips, and for the contours of the face. Hair fillers are a separate type, consisting of completely different components, but similar in principle to skin substances. The term filler comes from the English word fill - to fill, and this conveys the main task of the procedure - the cocktail penetrates between the folds, replacing voids, thereby smoothing out wrinkles.

Eye fillers are produced on the basis of hyaluronic acid, silicone, biopolymer, polyacrylamide or paraffin gels, biosynthetic (based on sugars and collagen) and biodegradable preparations (of animal and human origin). The last type is the safest. In addition, biopolymer gels are well suited for smoothing out deep wrinkles and stopping hematomas. A cosmetologist will advise you on an individual basis which fillers to choose for your eyes.

Benefits of hyaluronic acid fillers

To understand why hyaluronic acid fillers are so popular, you need to understand what hyaluronic acid is.

This is the name of the polysaccharide sodium hyaluronate - a substance produced by our body that is not associated with proteins. It carries a negative electrostatic charge and retains a large amount of water, 1,000 times the volume of hyaluronic acid itself. This ensures intensive nutrition and hydration of the skin.

Hyaluronic acid is a fantastic moisturizer, and fillers based on it have a number of benefits:

  • does not cause allergic reactions. Undesirable side effects occur extremely rarely, most often they are caused by improper use of drugs;
  • With age, the amount of the body's own hyaluronic acid noticeably decreases, which leads to skin aging. The introduction of special fillers using microinjections allows not only to fill voids in the subcutaneous space, but also stimulates the natural synthesis of sodium hyaluronate;
  • hyaluronic acid not only serves to fill wrinkles, it helps improve the condition of the skin in general, and also allows for visual correction and adding volume to cheekbones or lips;
  • hyaluronic fillers are biodegradable. That is, they are gradually eliminated from the body. If the client does not like the result, the cosmetologist can speed up the process of decomposition of the booster using special solvents;
  • After the introduction of hyaluronic acid, the result can be seen within a few hours. In a day, your facial skin will be smoother, your cheekbones will be emphasized, your eyes will be expressive, and your lips will be attractive;
  • Unlike synthetic drugs, fillers based on hyaluronic acid do not form persistent, non-absorbable lumps under the skin. The face does not lose its naturalness;
  • Gel fillers are an excellent alternative to plastic surgery. Contour plastic surgery using hyaluronic acid-based products does not require much time for preparation, implementation and recovery. And the cost of contour plastic surgery is more affordable.

The disadvantages of fillers based on hyaluronic acid include the relative fragility of the result. The injections will have to be repeated after 8-12 months.

There is also a risk of addiction. Fillers allow you to restore youth only temporarily; they mask the external manifestations of aging, but do not reverse this process.

Indications for use

Injections under the eyes are recommended for those who are looking for simple and affordable methods of rejuvenation. Fillers are cheaper than Botox and the results last longer. Indications for the procedure are:

  • dark circles, bags under the eyes, bruises;
  • thinning of the dermis;
  • deep nasolacrimal indentation;
  • swelling;
  • dry skin;
  • vascular network.

When and to whom

The skin around the eyes is very delicate, which is why age-related changes primarily affect this area. Due to excessive dryness caused by exposure to ultraviolet radiation and other external factors, fine wrinkles begin to form. This process begins after the age of 30. However, lack of sleep, poor diet, alcohol abuse and smoking can cause early skin aging, as well as lead to the formation of bruises and bags under the eyes.

The decision to use fillers should be made by a specialist after examining the client and assessing the condition of his skin. But recently, this procedure is increasingly being prescribed to people under 30.

The main indications for the use of fillers in the eye area are:

  • sagging skin. With age, fat bags are redistributed and ligaments are sprained, and the skin tone becomes weak. All this leads to sagging and sagging skin;
  • rosacea Small vessels become visible on the face; this condition occurs due to impaired blood microcirculation in the surface layers of the skin;
  • too pronounced nasolacrimal groove. This defect appears due to sprain of the ligaments that hold the orbicularis oculi muscle;
  • lower eyelid hernia;
  • dark circles around the eyes, which appear as a result of spasm of small blood vessels in this area.

Injecting fillers under the eyes allows you to smooth out facial wrinkles, remove bruises and bags under the eyes, give the skin a healthy look, and make your eyes more pronounced.

Advantages and disadvantages

The effect of using fillers lasts from one and a half to two years, and towards the end of this period the severity of the result noticeably decreases. The advantages and disadvantages of the procedure are indicated in the table:

pros Minuses
  • fillers around the eyes can correct defects that Botox, mesotherapy or other procedures cannot remove;
  • quick recovery after the session - the patient can immediately go home;
  • mobility of facial expressions and muscles after injection of fillers (unlike Botox, which makes the face become a “mask”);
  • short rehabilitation period (up to 10 days maximum);
  • achieving the effect in one session.
  • the risk of infection and inflammation (but this does not happen when qualified cosmetologists work);
  • possible swelling and pain in the puncture area;
  • complications cannot be excluded;
  • negative effect in case of incorrect selection of the drug.

Features of the procedure

Fillers are injected under the skin using special syringes with very thin needles that leave virtually no marks on the skin. The procedure does not require serious preparation, but some restrictions still exist. It is not advisable to combine injections with other cosmetic procedures; they are not performed while taking medications that thin the blood, etc.

After a preliminary conversation and clarification of details, the cosmetologist begins the procedure, which consists of the following stages:

1. Cleansing the skin. There should be no traces of makeup or other contaminants on the face. The penetration of pigments under the skin can lead to a tattoo effect at the injection sites.

2. Drawing auxiliary lines. The doctor uses a special pencil to mark the lines along which the correction will be carried out. Swelling occurs after just a few injections, and this marking allows for precise injection of filler.

3. Pain relief is carried out at the request of the client. A creamy anesthetic is used before the procedure. At the intended injection sites, the application is left for about 30 minutes, after which the injection of fillers can begin.

4. The drug is administered along a pre-designated line or in the form of a bolus - a cone-shaped tubercle. This makes it possible to evenly distribute the gel in the subcutaneous space and form the desired tissue volume.

The final stage of the procedure is massage. The doctor gently distributes the gel injected into the subcutaneous space and smoothes the transition areas.

The procedure itself for introducing fillers around the eyes or in the cheekbones is not too complicated. But you should trust it only to experienced cosmetologists. The Moscow medical cosmetology clinic “VIRTUSCLINIC” employs highly qualified specialists who can help you solve various problems with your facial skin.

How they work

The main active ingredient - hyaluronic acid - is in fact a substitute natural component, therefore it not only fills voids, but also moisturizes, stimulates cell renewal processes, and improves the structure of the skin. This is why anti-wrinkle fillers are very effective. Preparations based on calcium hydroxyapatite have a slightly different effect: they are recommended for increasing volume and contour correction, as they stimulate the growth of new collagen cells. All types of eye fillers are capable of:

  • smooth out creases;
  • remove swelling;
  • increase the elasticity of the dermis;
  • eliminate redness and pigmentation.

Homemade recipes for bags under the eyes

To get rid of bags under the eyes, you don’t have to use fillers; you can make do with improvised means and avoid buying high-priced cosmetics.

  1. The classic option is cucumber, which contains vitamin C and caffeic acid, which reduce swelling. Cold slices are placed on the eyes and held for 15-20 minutes. You can grind them into a paste. For greater effect, cover the cucumbers with cotton pads dipped in cold milk.
  2. A more exotic way is a slice of kiwi or banana. You can make a mask by grinding a piece of fruit to a pulp and mixing with sour cream.
  3. Tea, whether black or green, contains tannin and caffeine. Tannins reduce swelling, and caffeine constricts blood vessels. A tea bag is brewed in boiling water for three minutes, cooled and placed on the eyelids for 15 minutes.
  4. Mint leaves will help remove swelling and relieve fatigue. They are ground, the resulting pulp is placed on the eyelids and covered with a cotton pad dipped in cold water, milk or green tea.

Effective exercises for swelling for the orbicularis oculi muscle

If you don’t have time to visit a cosmetologist, but you need to quickly remove puffiness under the eyes, a simple but effective set of exercises will help. As before any workout, you first need to warm up. To do this, just blink quickly and rotate them in a circle for a minute.

To strengthen the orbicularis oculi muscle and remove swelling, perform the following exercises:

  1. Fingers are placed on the orbicularis muscle along the perimeter (on the superciliary arch above and the zygomatic bone below), without pressing on the face. The eye is closed tightly twenty times, while the second one is open.
  2. The index finger is located on the outer corner of the eye, the middle finger on the inner corner. They should fix the skin, but not tighten it. You need to squint hard, raising the lower eyelid. The action is repeated 8 times, rest, and do two more approaches.
  3. The fingers are located on the cheek bone. You need to close your eyes tightly and look up. You may feel some discomfort, which will go away over time. You need to start with 10 repetitions, gradually increase the number of repetitions to 20.
  4. Press your fingers to the outer corners of your eyes and look at the ceiling for five seconds.

For the complex to be effective, it is advisable to carry it out five times a week. The result will be noticeable after 2-3 months with regular exercise.

Patient reviews on the use of fillers under the eyes

Nadezhda, 41 years old, Stavropol:

I had deep wrinkles around my eyes that made me look very old. I decided on fillers. The cosmetologist did everything carefully, there was no pain, no bruises, just swelling. The result is good, it has lasted for eight months.

Yulia, 56 years old, Kazan:

I wanted to remove small wrinkles under my eyes. Not only did I walk around with terrible swelling for several days, but there were no significant changes. Money wasted.

Margarita, 51 years old, Krasnoyarsk:

I have been using DNC Wrinkle Filler to get rid of crow's feet for several years now. I am completely satisfied, the cream does not tighten the skin at all, and wrinkles are only noticeable if you look closely.

How are injections administered?

The session takes from half an hour to forty-five minutes. During this time, the master has time to completely treat the area. Stages of the procedure:

  1. Removing makeup and impurities from the eye area.
  2. Treating the surface with an antiseptic.
  3. Applying an anesthetic (cream, gel, etc.).
  4. Break for 20 minutes to allow the pain relief to take effect.
  5. Direct administration of the product. Each puncture is wiped again with a sterile cloth.
  6. Gentle massage of the eyelids for better distribution of fillers.

In some cases, the areas may not be numbed. The need for anesthesia is discussed individually with each patient. Almost everyone recommends anesthesia - because it reduces all discomfort to a minimum, and the procedure is comfortable.

Protocol for the procedure in the salon

Before the procedure, all makeup is removed from the face and treated with an antiseptic. To prevent the patient from feeling pain, the skin is lubricated with a special gel with lidocaine and covered with a film to speed up absorption. Then the film is removed and the remaining gel is removed. Such anesthesia will not completely eliminate discomfort, but it will significantly reduce it.

Fillers usually come in syringes with microneedles. The cosmetologist injects the drug under the skin and massages the treated area well so that the gel is evenly distributed and lumps do not form.

Immediately after the procedure, swelling will occur at the injection site, so you will only be able to see how effective the filler was after a week.

Skin care after the procedure

Swelling and slight bruising may appear at the injection sites. These symptoms go away on their own within 1-2 days. The full effect of the injection of fillers becomes noticeable after about 1-2 weeks. The procedure can not only smooth out wrinkles, but make the epidermal tissue smoother and more elastic. To maintain this result and avoid side effects, follow these skin care rules immediately after the procedure:

  • do not visit saunas and baths;
  • avoid direct sunlight;
  • try to touch your face with your hands as little as possible;
  • do not use cosmetics (both decorative and care products); if you use medicinal products, consult a cosmetologist about their use during the rehabilitation period;
  • for the first week, do not drink large amounts of water at night, so as not to provoke swelling;
  • reduce physical activity if you are used to regularly going to the gym;
  • use the medications prescribed by your cosmetologist to care for the treated dermis.

What you need to know about the procedure

The result of contour plastic surgery depends not only on the quality of the drugs used and the skills of the cosmetologist. It is necessary to follow some recommendations before and after the procedure.

Before the injection of fillers, you should not use aggressive cosmetics or sunbathe. If the client is prone to bruising and swelling, then she may be recommended a preventative course of medications that strengthen the walls of blood vessels. The following points should also be taken into account:

  • if a course of Botox injections was carried out, then at least 2 weeks should pass between procedures;
  • peeling cannot be done immediately after the injection of fillers. The interval between procedures should be about one month. However, there are types of gentle peelings that can be performed immediately before contouring;
  • Injections should not be given to pregnant women. To date, there is no data on exactly how the filler affects the body of the expectant mother and fetus. But at this time, a woman has an increased tendency to edema, and her hormonal levels also change;
  • You should not inject fillers during your period. Experts advise undergoing the procedure approximately in the middle of the cycle. This is due to changes in hormonal levels and changes in the pain threshold during menstruation;
  • It is better to postpone sports activities for 7–10 days. There is no need to completely give up physical activity, but it is worth keeping the load to a minimum;
  • After introducing the fillers, the doctor gives a light massage. It is not recommended to massage the areas where fillers were injected at home;
  • the presence of other gels or implants in the correction area may negatively affect the result of the procedure;
  • It is strictly forbidden to combine contour plastic surgery with taking antibiotics. After the course of treatment, at least 2 weeks must pass before fillers can be injected.

There are no strict restrictions on the use of cosmetics after beauty injections. But it is better to carry out your favorite skin care procedures a few days after the introduction of dermal implants.

There are a number of conditions in which a good cosmetologist will not undertake the procedure of introducing fillers with hyaluron. These include cancer, kidney failure, epilepsy and mental disorders. If your body temperature is elevated, you should also avoid administering any medications under the skin.

Side effects after beauty injections based on hyaluronic acid are extremely rare, occurring in approximately 0.5% of cases. Within a few hours, slight swelling may occur due to mechanical stress on the skin. But the very next day the skin returns to its normal state, and the pain completely disappears.

Which filler is best for the nasolacrimal groove?

The problem with choosing a drug for this area is that it is very sensitive. A substance that is too dense can distort features, and some components in the injection cocktail can cause moisture accumulation, which also has an unpleasant effect on appearance. Although the selection should be made individually, together with a cosmetologist, still read the review of which fillers for the nasolacrimal groove are considered the best.

Juvederm Volbella

A product with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid. It is part of the Juvederm line of fillers, differing only in density. "Volbella" is a liquid consistency drug that does not weigh down the skin, but moisturizes and fills shallow wrinkles, therefore it is ideal for the area under the eyes. In addition to hyaluronic acid, Juvederm Volbella includes:

  • lidocaine is an anesthetic that dulls sensitivity; thanks to this component, no additional pain relief is needed when using Volbell;
  • phosphate buffer is a special synthetic substance that can regulate the amount of intracellular fluid.

Thanks to the main component (hyaluronic acid), the effect of using this filler lasts up to one year. In addition, Juvederm has a number of advantages:

  • pronounced results immediately after the procedure;
  • minimal risk of side effects;
  • naturalness in facial features after injections;
  • no need for anesthesia.

The cost of one 1 ml ampoule is about 16 thousand rubles. This amount of Volbell is enough for one session, the effect of which lasts for 12 months.

Princesses

Popular high-quality filler made in Austria based on hyaluronic acid. Manufactured using special patented SMART technology, which extends the life of the injections. “Princesses” are produced in four versions; Princess Rich is suitable for the area around the eyes. It contains a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid than the others (18 mg/ml). The main goal of the injections is to restore the water-salt balance and stimulate the renewal of the epidermis at the cellular level.

The main advantage of "Princesses" is its versatility. This filler is suitable for all skin types and extremely rarely causes an allergic reaction, since it contains only two basic components: hyaluronic acid and glycerin (20 mg/ml). Thanks to them, Princess provides the following effect:

  • improves skin color;
  • eliminates fine expression wrinkles and deep folds;
  • removes small scars (for example, from pimples).

The effect of the filler lasts up to 4 months due to the low density of the drug (other types of products from the Princess line last up to a year), but it is cheaper in cost than Juvederm - you can buy the substance for 4000–4500 rubles per ampoule. The average price for injections with this product in Moscow salons is 7,000 rubles.

Restylane

A modern and safe filler from the Swedish company Q-Med is produced on the basis of hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. Available in several forms; for the eyelids they use Restylane Touch, the lightest drug designed to smooth out fine expression wrinkles, moisturize and biorevitalize. The benefits of Restylane Touch are the same as the rest of the line:

  • hypoallergenic;
  • naturalness;
  • long period of manifestation of the result (from 6 months);
  • compatibility with organic fabrics;
  • no need for dosage (if the effect is insufficient, you can almost immediately give another injection);
  • no side effects;
  • Suitable for patients with thin and sensitive skin.

The effect of Restylane is visible immediately - and the face does not swell or redden. Immediately after visiting a cosmetologist, you can go home, to work or for a walk. The maximum severity of the result is achieved approximately a week after the session. We should not forget about the rules of skin care during this time (see above). An ampoule of Restylane Touch (0.5 ml) costs 9,000 rubles.

Restylane: fillers and skinboosters

Radiesse

The injectable Radiesse preparation differs from those discussed above: it is denser and is made on the basis of calcium hydroxyapatite (30%) and distilled water (70%). This composition increases the duration of the filler (from one year), but increases the side effects. In addition to redness and swelling, bumps may appear, especially if Radiesse is used in the eye area. To ensure proper distribution, filler can be injected in two stages: half a tube in one session, and the rest after 2-3 weeks. Benefits of use:

  • correction for 14–15 months;
  • pronounced result;
  • 100% biocompatible;
  • uniform resorption (replaced by natural tissue).

The cost of the Radiesse injection procedure under the eyes is on average 20,000 rubles (for a quantity of 0.8 ml). Considering the duration of action, this is a good price, but when using this drug, it is extremely important to be confident in the specialist who will conduct the session, since the risk of side effects is higher than with other drugs.

Injecting fillers under the eyes

The area around the eyes is the most sensitive. Injecting fillers into this part of the face must be done very carefully. As a rule, a cosmetologist makes only one puncture to correct a defect that serves as an indication for contour plastic surgery. But the distribution of the drug is carried out in different ways:

  • dark circles under the eyes appear due to the fact that venous vessels are visible through the skin, a spasm of small capillaries that deliver oxygen to the tissues occurs. To eliminate this defect, it is necessary to create an additional layer under the dermis layer with a thickness of about 1 mm;
  • bags under the eyes occur due to the displacement of fatty tissue, forming hernial protrusions. This defect can also be caused by fluid stagnation. Filler with low molecular weight hyaluronic acid fills the voids so that the skin tension is uniform throughout the entire correction area;
  • The severity of the nasolacrimal groove can be caused by various factors. Smoothing it allows you to make your look expressive and less tired.

Correct distribution of the gel composition allows you to solve several problems at once.

As a rule, the procedure for introducing boosters affects several areas at once. In one visit, you can correct your cheekbones and areas under the eyes.

Contraindications and possible side effects

The main contraindication for the injection of fillers is pregnancy and lactation. In addition, it is strictly forbidden to give injections during an exacerbation of chronic diseases, as well as to treat inflamed skin. Other contraindications:

  • age under 18 years;
  • irritation, itching, rash or allergy;
  • wounds on areas that need correction;
  • poor blood clotting;
  • kidney pathologies;
  • epilepsy;
  • oncology;
  • infections, viruses, especially those affecting the skin (for example, herpes);
  • recently performed bepharoplasty, peelings;
  • predisposition to the appearance of scars;
  • weak immune system, autoimmune diseases;
  • general poor health.

There is no risk of infection or provoking inflammation if injections are performed according to the rules. However, even with a highly qualified specialist, redness, bruising and hematomas may appear at the site of filler injection. This is how sensitive skin reacts to the treatment. Some ophthalmologists note that beauty injections can negatively affect vision. Three similar cases were described in the American scientific journal JAMA Ophthalmology, but there is not enough precedent for the risk to be high, although cosmetologists are required to notify patients about it.

Fillers. Part 4. Possible complications.

Age-related changes in the skin around the eyes

The reason for the formation of expression lines is the regular contraction and stretching of the skin. Every day we frown, laugh and smile, squint - all this puts a strain on the skin. At some point, thin skin cannot cope with the tension of the orbital muscle, elastin and collagen fibers “break” and wrinkles form.

Plus, exposure to sunlight activates the production of free radicals that attack the skin from the inside. This contributes to the appearance of folds and sagging of the dermis.

Bad habits, frequent stress, lack of sleep, poor diet - all this also negatively affects the condition and appearance of the skin. The area around the eyes is the first to suffer from this.

Photos before and after fillers

What injections are there for wrinkles under the eyes?

To combat negative changes, sometimes it is not enough to use anti-aging cosmetics. Methods that act on the root of the problem, on the middle layers of the dermis, come to help in preserving youth.

Here we will look at what injections are used to preserve and restore the youth and beauty of the skin, what they are called and used, and what effect they have.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is the introduction of amino acids, minerals, vitamins and other beneficial ingredients directly into the dermis. The composition is selected individually by the cosmetologist, taking into account the detected problems, but the basis of the “cocktail” is always the following active components:

  1. Hyaluronic acid;
  2. Minerals magnesium and zinc;
  3. Vitamins H and group B;
  4. Elastin and collagen.

As a result of introducing a rejuvenating cocktail into the dermis of the eyelids:

  • Stimulates blood circulation in the layers of the dermis;
  • Wrinkles are smoothed out;
  • The skin of the eyelids becomes elastic and “fresh” in appearance;
  • Swelling, dark circles and bags under the eyes are eliminated.

A visible, stable effect appears after several sessions of the procedure.

Mesotherapy has disadvantages:

  • the duration of the effect of mesotherapy is only two months;
  • the session may be painful;
  • Hematomas and swelling may form at the site of administration of the “cocktail”.

Biorevitalization

To combat age-related changes in the skin around the eyes, biorevitalization is also used, which can be classified as a particular type of mesotherapy. This method includes injections based on hyaluronic acid, peptides and vitamins.

In the body, hyaluronic acid is stored in skin cells. Its action is aimed at retaining a large number of water molecules, while forming a viscous gel to maintain the elasticity and firmness of tissues. The acid is also involved in the production of collagen and elastin. But its amount decreases as we age, which is one of the root causes of wrinkles. Biorevitalization is aimed at restoring its quantity.

Cosmetologists claim that such anti-wrinkle injections are more effective than conventional mesotherapy. The conclusion is based on the fact that during biorevitalization a high concentration of the active substance is introduced, which means that the effect is achieved faster and the number of necessary procedures can be reduced.

The session is painful and lasts about 45-50 minutes. Before the procedure, the cosmetologist can apply an anesthetic to the skin to minimize the occurrence of painful sensations.

It is recommended to resort to biorevitalization only after 35 years.

The procedure has a serious drawback: injections of a high concentration of a substance can cause an allergic reaction.

The most effective injections for wrinkles around the eyes

The introduction of active substances directly into the middle layers of the dermis allows you to maximize their effectiveness in a limited amount of time. This is why various beauty injections are so popular.

Beauty injections based on Botox

Injections of drugs based on botulinum toxins are one of the most popular salon procedures. Its action is aimed at combating facial wrinkles, including in the corners of the eyes.

Botulinum toxin type A inhibits the production of acetylcholine, which carries out neuromuscular transmission. Thanks to this, the muscles relax and the intensity of their contraction decreases.

Visible result of injections:

  1. Wrinkles no longer form when you squint;
  2. the surface of the skin is leveled;
  3. new wrinkles do not appear.

A number of drugs based on botulinum toxin are used: Botox, Dysport, Xeomin.

The effect of the procedure lasts from 6 months to 1 year. An important advantage of injections based on Botox and similar drugs is that they are safe because they comply with all medical standards.

There are also disadvantages. Botox is not able to smooth out deep wrinkles. Its action masks age-related changes, but it does not initiate the self-rejuvenation process.

Fillers against wrinkles around the eyes

Fillers are gel-like preparations. They are fillers for beauty injections. The word “filler” comes from the English verb to fill – “to fill.” The use of fillers replaces surgical plastic surgery.

Fillers eliminate both fine wrinkles and deep ones.

There are different types, including:

  • fillers based on hyaluronic acid;
  • collagen-based fillers;

Below is a detailed description of each type of filler.

Injections based on hyaluronic acid

Combating age-related changes in the skin around the eyes with hyaluronic acid fillers is a fairly common practice. And for good reason.

The procedure causes a number of positive changes:

  1. Hyaluronic acid literally fills wrinkles;
  2. Skin elasticity increases due to the activation of fibroblasts that produce collagen;
  3. Due to the ability of hyaluronic acid to bind and retain water molecules, skin moisture is restored;
  4. Dark circles under the eyes disappear.

What is the difference between mesotherapy and this type of filler, if in both cases injections with hyaluronic acid are used? The main difference is in the density of the “cocktail”.

Fillers are thicker preparations that fill in wrinkles and other signs of aging, in addition to stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

But it is worth noting that less dense gels are used for injections into the eyelid area than for injecting filler into the forehead. Cosmetic injections into the skin around the eyes are made using a specially developed technology, then the drug is distributed over the periorbital area.

The recommended age to start using fillers is 40 years old, not earlier. The effect of the procedure is observed for about two years.

What is important to know about the procedure:

  • After injections into the skin around the eyes, swelling may appear. This is normal, after some time the swelling will go away;
  • After the filler is injected, bluish stripes may appear that are clearly visible in the light. This feature is due to the action of the active substance, so the stripes will disappear only after dissolution - approximately six months after the procedure.

Anti-wrinkle injections based on collagen

Collagen-based fillers are used in procedures aimed at rejuvenation. Collagen gel is injected under the skin to fill wrinkles, tighten the skin, and increase its elasticity. The most commonly used is bovine collagen.

The session is carried out in a cosmetology office; anesthesia, as a rule, is not used. The cosmetologist determines the amount of filler individually, based on examination data and the person’s wishes.

It is not recommended to resort to collagen injections before the age of 35.

Just one procedure allows you to see a positive result, but for a stable effect from the procedure you need to conduct regular sessions (approximately once every six months).

Expert recommendations:

  • Before introducing the filler, a tolerance test should be carried out, since there is a high probability of developing an allergic reaction.
  • At the end of the cosmetology session, swelling and bruising appear, and pain may occur in the area where the gel was introduced. These unpleasant manifestations disappear within a few days.
