Myopia (myopia) is a pathological disorder of the organs of vision, in which images that are far away are perceived by the vision as unclear and blurry. Myopia is divided into degrees: from 3 to 20 diopters. If myopia has from 3 to 5 diopters, then this is a weak degree, from 6 to 14 diopters this is an average degree of the disease, now over 14 diopters and up to 20 this is the most severe degree of myopia.
With the development of myopia, regardless of the degree, the refractive function of the eyes is greatly distorted, all eye organs acquire a more elongated shape. Which in turn negatively affects focusing, that is, when carefully examining an object, the focus does not reach the retina and is perceived as blurred. Complex treatment using traditional medicine will help improve your vision a little. Of course, traditional medicine recipes are not able to completely rid a person of the disease, but they can improve the functioning of vision a little (make the images a little clearer) and stop the further development of myopia.
Description of the disease
Over millennia of evolution, the organs of vision of humans as a species have adapted to more clearly distinguish near objects, while distant vision has always lagged behind.
This was due to the fact that in the course of life a person had to deal more often with small objects located at close range.
Nevertheless, the person retained some visual acuity when distinguishing relatively distant objects.
Myopia is a disease in which the ability to distinguish distant objects is lost almost completely, they become unclear, blurry, and in severe stages of the disease their image generally merges into one continuous spot.
This is due to the fact that light rays entering the eye are focused not on the retina, but before it, and a blurred image falls on the retina.
This state of affairs can be caused by two reasons: incorrect proportions of the size of the eye or a malfunction of the eye lens - the lens.
Myopia corresponds to a negative refractive power of the organ of vision, “vision minus X,” to put it more simply.
Weak myopia corresponds to a value of up to -3 diopters, an average stage of the disease - from -3 to -6, a severe stage - above -6.
Myopia, caused by increased refraction of light by the lens, is rare, temporary and caused by negative external factors (complications of diabetes, taking certain hormonal drugs).
Much more serious is myopia, which is caused by changes in the shape of the eyeball. Most often, it is congenital and develops due to genetic predisposition.
Because of this, vision will deteriorate in any case, and negative external factors (improper sitting position when reading and writing, eye strain, etc.) will only accelerate this process.
The disease develops between the ages of 10 and 22 years and in any case requires mandatory surgical intervention to avoid the development of further complications and even blindness.
Folk remedies for treating myopia at home
Myopia is myopia, an eye disease in which the ability to clearly see objects and objects from afar is limited.
Treating myopia at home can be quite effective if you know exactly the cause of its occurrence. There are three degrees of development of this disease: weak, medium and strong. Myopia can be inherited, but most often it is an acquired disease. Working at a computer for long periods of time, watching TV in a dimly lit room, and putting a lot of strain on the eyes can all lead to decreased visual acuity.
There are several ways to cure myopia using folk remedies: special exercises, diet, lotions and compresses. The only exception is a high degree of myopia, when surgical intervention is necessary. However, during the rehabilitation period after vision correction surgery, traditional methods are also recommended - they will help with rapid recovery.
Prevention
But if you maintain visual hygiene and perform therapeutic exercises, you will also achieve some positive results.
Firstly, you will reduce the rate of vision degradation, and secondly, you will not allow stationary (if your eyes are sick with such) myopathy to develop into a progressive one.
Gymnastics is also good for consolidating the results that were achieved through surgical correction.
It is worth noting that with myopia, many types of activities are prohibited, such as heavy physical labor, long-term shaking (running, skiing, etc.), and work associated with long-term eye strain.
Following these prohibitions is an integral part of prevention.
Here are the exercises that will help prevent the development of the disease and its complications:
Exercise 1
Move your eyes, alternately looking up and down and left and right. This trains the elasticity of the eyeball and relaxes it.
Exercise 2
Close your eyes tightly, sit in this position for a minute and a half, then open them and look at a distant point or object. Then close your eyes again for the same amount of time. Repeat 10-15 times.
Exercise 3
Change the focus of your vision from distant objects to lower ones and vice versa. Do this several times in a row.
Exercise 4
Cut a circle out of cardboard with a small hole inside. Attach the circle to the eye. Concentrate first on its outline, and then look into the hole.
To do this, you need the hole in the mug to be smaller in diameter than the diameter of the eye.
Exercise 5
Sit straight on a chair. Then tilt your head back and look at the ceiling for half a minute. Then return your head to the starting position and look at your feet for the same amount of time. Repeat the exercise five times.
Exercise 6
Palming before bed. Its essence is that you must imagine a color with your eyes open, then suddenly change it in your imagination to another color, and so on until you have gone through the entire palette.
Do this sort of thing several times. The same can be done by imagining not colors, but other bright objects. Try to visualize all their small details and outlines.
Folk remedies for strong and weak myopia
The following recipes will help you get rid of severe and mild myopia without surgery:
50 g of dried and crushed cornflower petals should be mixed with 50 g of eyebright. The herbal mixture is poured with 500 ml of water and brought to a boil over low heat. After boiling for 5 minutes, remove the solution from the heat, cool and strain. Divide the resulting volume into 3 parts and take three times a day.- 200 g of chopped aloe leaves (they must first be removed from the thorns) must be mixed with dried cornflower flowers (50 g), eyebright (50 g), 600 g of honey and 600 ml of red wine. To mix the ingredients you will need a deep saucepan, which should be covered with a lid and placed in a water bath. The mixture should simmer over low heat for an hour. After this, cool it and strain. The decoction should be taken three times a day, 1 tbsp. l. 30 minutes before meals.
These recipes help cure mild myopia in adults and children. If you want to cure a high degree of the disease, you need to do this: take a 3-liter jar, pour elderberries and a large amount of sugar into it. Place the jar in the sun to steep for 3-4 days. The resulting juice must be taken 3 times a day - 1 tsp. 20 minutes before meals.

Treatment
Here the principles are the same, but you need to spend more time on gymnastics, and also use more complex exercises.
It is worth warning that a person with myopia at some stages of treatment cannot perform such gymnastics, so how to start practicing should consult a doctor.
So, for the treatment of myopia, the following complex can be proposed:
- Blink very quickly for 10-15 seconds. Then give your eyes a little rest and repeat the exercise. In total you need to do 4 approaches.
- Close your eyes and lightly press your index, ring and middle fingers on the eyelid of each eye. The pressure should be felt, but not too strong.
- You need to lift the skin on your forehead up and try to keep your eyes closed at the same time. This movement strains the eyeball well.
- Extend your hand, put out one of your fingers (the index finger is most convenient) and slowly bring it closer to your nose, without looking away. Then also slowly move it to the starting position. 5-7 repetitions are enough.
- Bring small objects so close to your eyes that their image begins to double, then move them away again at arm's length.
- Read the text in a book. Close your eyes and imagine it. Try to reproduce the text as accurately as possible, but not the information it carries, namely the image in the book.
- You need to print out two versions of test tables that are familiar to everyone from ophthalmology offices. One table should be large, the second smaller. Place a large table at a distance of two meters from you, sit on a chair, and take the small table in your hands. Bring a small table to your eyes and move it away at arm's length, trying to read the smallest letters. Then focus on the big table and try to read the same letters.
- Also useful exercises are embroidery, speed reading, solving puzzles and composing puzzles.

Summary
Myopia is a more serious and harmful disease compared to farsightedness. Therefore, the importance of prevention here, although great, is often insufficient without medical intervention.
But this does not mean that it should be neglected. On the contrary, you need to pay active attention to it to consolidate the therapeutic effect of outpatient procedures.
All exercises against myopia are based on one principle: give the eyes a varied load, maintain the elasticity of the lens and the correct shape of the eyeball.
You are free to come up with certain trainings that will satisfy this requirement. The main thing is that they should be safe and not overload the eyes.
Home therapy rules
It is important to know that before starting treatment on an outpatient basis (at home), you need to consult an ophthalmologist.
When treating myopia at home, follow these recommendations:
- You should not take folk remedies as a panacea for all diseases. They will not be able to eliminate myopia, but will only slightly correct vision. Traditional medicine must be used in conjunction with vitamin complexes D and A, as well as medications for vision correction. Only in the complex will positive dynamics be observed.
- A course of taking herbal remedies should be carried out no more than once a month. Abuse of tinctures and compresses for the eyes can lead not to recovery, but, on the contrary, to a decrease in visual acuity.
- You need to regularly monitor the body's reaction. If a person has an allergic reaction to a specific component, then it is necessary to stop using this medicine.
- The most important thing in any treatment is consistency. Home therapy must be completed. Before you begin treatment with herbs or other methods, you need to be soberly aware of whether you can complete it to the very end.
- The recipe must be strictly followed. There is no need to add any ingredients if they are not originally in the recipe.
Home treatment cannot completely rid you of myopia. But with regular exercise and nutritional correction, it is possible to stop the development of myopia.
A fairly popular non-surgical method of treating myopia is physiotherapy. There are various physiotherapy methods such as.
- SMV. This type of therapy stands for centimeter wave treatment. Its essence lies in the impact of current, the range of which is 1 cm. During the procedure, under the influence of currents, heat is generated in the tissues of the visual organ, which increases blood flow and expands capillaries. As a result, the eyes receive more nutrients and oxygen. This procedure also eliminates symptoms such as eye tension and fatigue, as well as spasms of the eye muscles.
- Ultrasound (therapy carried out by ultrasound). This procedure activates metabolism in the tissues of the eye, improves blood circulation and relieves spasm from the eye muscles. The procedure is carried out using a special ultrasonic device shaped like binoculars. During the procedure, a special solution is applied to the eyelids. The duration of the manipulations is 5 minutes. The course of treatment includes 10 procedures.
It is important to know! This type of treatment is contraindicated in persons with cardiovascular abnormalities, as well as in patients with endocrine pathologies. During pregnancy, this type of pregnancy is also prohibited.
Only a doctor knows how to treat visual dysfunction correctly. Therefore, before trying specific methods on yourself, you should definitely consult with an ophthalmologist about the advisability of such therapy.
There are also a number of rules by following which you can improve your health without harm and effectively. The list includes the following requirements:
- You cannot rely only on folk remedies. They do not treat pathology, but only help to slightly improve vision. They are recommended to be used along with vitamins, pills and optical correction.
- Conduct herbal treatment courses no more than once a month. Frequent use of tinctures or compress therapy can have the opposite effect.
- It is necessary to monitor the body's reaction. If you have an allergy or intolerance to any component, it is better not to use it at all.
- The main thing is systematicity and regularity. Non-traditional treatment must be comprehensive and complete. Once you start herbal therapy, you need to finish it.
- You must strictly follow the recipe. You cannot add additional ingredients at your own request, even if individually they are healthy.
